Dr. Darak has been practising Ophthalmology for over 10 years and has a wealth of experience in providing treatment for some of the most complicated eye diseases. In addition to record number of Lasik Surgeries and over 4,000 Cataract Surgeries to his credit, he has also performed a large number of Ophthalmic procedures:

• Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) - for near vision correction

Dr. Darak's academic credentials include M.B.B.S. and post graduation in Ophthalmology from Govt. Medical College, Aurangabad. Being affiliated with the largest recognized Govt. Hospital in the region, Govt. Medical College attracted in flow of thousands of patients and Dr. Darak gained significant hands on experience in handling diverse patients and diseases. After post graduation, he completed a 'Contact Lens training' at the internationally recognized L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad and also did a short term fellowship from Arvind Netralaya, Madurai. He has done advanced courses in Refractive Surgery from National Eye Care Centre, Singapore and Tin Tok Seng Hospital, Singapore. He has also received training in Implantable Collamer Lens Implant (ICL) under the able guidance of famous Surgeon Dr. John Vokich, USA.

Dr. Darak firmly believes in progress through continuous education and research. He has presented several case studies and research papers at various Ophthalmic conferences. He has also conducted workshops / wet lab sessions and trained several Ophthalmic Surgeons in the field of Refractive Surgery. He is also associated with Bausch & Lomb India Ltd and Wavelight for providing 'medical in service' and has attended several training courses such as 'Worldwide Zyoptix Alliance', 'Wavelight user meet' etc. He was also associated with Sun Pharma for clinical research on drug Fiasle. He regularly visits centres in Europe to enrich his knowledge on latest developments in the field.

Dr. Darak has contributed many articles in leading newspapers / magazines such as 'The Times of India' & 'Femina' on the subjects of Eye Care and Lasik Surgeries. He has also been interviewed on 'Radio Mirchi' as part of a series on community health care awareness.

During his tenure with Govt. Medical College - Aurangabad, Dr. Darak treated a large number of patients belonging to the lower income groups and developed strong desire to contribute for social cause which led to his active involvement with various NGO's / social organizations. He has worked very closely with 'Nobel' prize nominated plastic Surgeon Dr. Sharad Kumar Dixit and has participated and performed free Squint Surgeries in his camps. Working with local groups such as Lions Club, Rotary Club etc, he has organized several free check up / free Cataract Surgery camps in Maharashtra for the underprivileged sections of the society. Amongst his other social associations, he is an active worker of 'Saakar group' engaged in the child adoption process.
