  Associate Doctor Profile - Dr. Jaywant Sarwate
 

Dr.Sarwate did his Fellowship in Retina & Vitreous Surgery in 1982 under able guidance of Prof. P.N. Nagpal Ahmedabad.

He started private practice & Eye hospital in 1982 in Satara & is practicing for last 28 years. He started Cataract Extraction with IOL implantation, Glaucoma & Squint surgeries & vitreo retinal surgeries in Satara since 1984.

He was pioneer in starting Eye Bank in Satara District in 1992 in association with IMA Satara Branch. He has performed thousands of cataracts & IOL implants to date.
Dr.Sarwate is a pioneer in starting small incision cataract surgery, Phakoemulsification & foldable IOL implantation since 1993. He established first ever laser clinic Satara in 1996 well equipped with Yag laser, Frequency doubled green yag laser for diabetic retinopathy treatment & laser trabeculotomy & Iridotomy for Glaucoma.
Dr.Sarwate is associated with social organizations like Rotary, IMA for conducting many free eye camps. He has written a book in Marathi for patient education. He is a pioneer in Refractive surgery in Southern Maharashtra since 2001. He was trained in Germany for Refractive surgery viz. Wavefront optimized /guided Lasik. He is a regular invitee as a guest speaker & Panelist in many State levels, national & international conferences.
He is a Life member of IMA, AIOS, & member of ESCRS & ASCRS. Under the able guidance of Dr. Jayant Sarwate, Divyadrishti Lasers, Satara has been a pioneering institute of total eye care and it provides every option of Refractive Surgery Viz Lasik, PTK, SBK and advanced forms of ASA like Lasek, Epi –K.
Dr. Sarwate is one of the few eye surgeons, who perform ICL Phakic Implants for very high myopia, hyperopia, high astigmatism, and KERATOCONUS, in which Lasik cannot be performed. Dr. Sarwate is also an expert in treating Keratoconus with UV Corneal Collagen Crosslinking Treatment along with Toric ICL implantation and /or INTACS.
