  Viewpoint CK System

ViewPoint CK System is used to perform NearVision CK (Conductive Keratoplasty) treatment. It is the only FDA approved technology that improves near vision for Presbyopic Emmetropes and Presbyopic Hyperopes.
NearVision CK was ranked the #1 non-laser refractive procedure in the USA, according to Market Scope's 2005 Annual Survey of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and is an effective, safe and minimally-invasive alternative for the millions of conservative, Presbyopic baby boomer patients who may be apprehensive about laser vision correction surgery, and are seeking to reduce their dependence on Reading Glasses and improve their near vision.

"One of the most exciting aspects of this technique is that it provides the same post-op 'wow factor' that LASIK patients experience ... The initial response is very robust, with no apparent loss of stability compared to conventional CK ... It reduces the need for balancing spots and improves patient satisfaction." - Rick Milne, MD.

The ViewPoint CK System is compact and portable, so the procedure can be performed in an office. The treatment only takes about three minutes, and since the ViewPoint CK System can be acquired for a fraction of the cost of laser surgery or other refractive equipment, it is extremely affordable.

How It Works
ViewPoint CK System applies radio waves in a circular pattern on the outer Cornea to shrink small areas of collagen. This shrinking pattern creates a constrictive band (like the tightening of a belt) increasing the overall curvature of the Cornea to bring near vision back into focus. It uses a probe with a Micro thin (90μ diameter) single use KERATOPLAST tip for delivering Radio Frequency energy directly to the corneal stroma.
Benefits of Near ViewPoint CK System

An impressive safety profile
  1. Minimally invasive procedure
  2. Nominal incidence of side effects
  3. Few complications related to surgical treatment
Fast and easy to perform
  1. Safe procedure with no cutting or removal of tissue
  2. Performed in minutes, in-office with only topical anesthesia
  3. Easily integrated into any ophthalmic practice

Demonstrated results
Results from the FDA clinical trials confirm the effectiveness of NearVision CK in improving near vision. Data collected 12 months after NearVision CK was performed demonstrate that 98% of patients could read newspaper sized print and 87% could see 20/20 in the distance and also read phone book sized print without any visual aids.
